Founded in early 2020 by Andreas Lykke, alongside his younger brother Mathias and their father Ole, TheDailyWhisky is more than a whisky blog it’s a shared journey. What began as a family passion quickly grew into a daily commitment to delivering honest whisky reviews, global whisky news, and coverage of major whisky events.
Based in Denmark just a two-hour flight from the spiritual home of whisky, Scotland we sit close enough to feel the pulse of the industry while bringing a unique Nordic perspective to our audience.
Where it all began
Our story starts in 2018.
That was the year our father, Ole, visited Scotland and the legendary island of Islay. The distilleries, the coastal air, the peat smoke drifting from the kilns something changed. Whisky was no longer just a drink. It became culture, heritage, craftsmanship.
That trip ignited a family-wide fascination.
Tastings turned into discussions. Discussions turned into collecting. Collecting turned into studying production methods, cask types, regions, and distillery philosophies. By early 2020, we decided to share our journey with the world and TheDailyWhisky was born.

Yes we maintain an extensive sample range so we can explore widely and compare properly.
Every review is based on our own tasting experience. We focus on:

Whisky is subjective but honesty isn’t. If we love a bottle, we’ll tell you why. If it disappoints, we’ll explain that too.
