For a distillery that has been running cask finishes for close to five decades, a first is worth paying attention to. Port pipes are large casks, typically around 550 to 650 litres, previously used to mature port wine in Portugal’s Douro region. They tend to lend red fruit, jammy sweetness and a gentle tannic grip, and they remain relatively uncommon in Scotch compared with sherry butts and bourbon barrels.

Note the formats. The two entry expressions come only as 1 litre bottles, standard practice in duty free, while the 15 and 18 year olds are 70cl only. On a per-centilitre basis the Warehouse Eight Solera is comfortably the value play in the range.
Warehouse Eight Solera: the 15 Year Old’s airport cousin
Warehouse Eight Solera is the only bottling in the collection without an age statement, and it is essentially a tribute to the system behind Glenfiddich’s much-loved 15 Year Old. In 1998 the distillery borrowed a technique from the sherry bodegas of Jerez and built a large oak marrying vat in its Warehouse 8. Whiskies matured in bourbon, sherry and red wine casks go in, and the vat is never fully emptied, so every bottling carries a thread of older liquid through it.
If you know the standard Solera 15, expect this to play in similar territory, though Glenfiddich has not yet published full specifications for the travel retail version. We will update this article when the ABV is confirmed.

A new look, and the reason the bottles look different
The Voyage Collection is among the very first ranges to wear Glenfiddich’s new visual identity, which the distillery announced in February 2026 and is rolling out globally from April 2026. The redesign reworks the stag that has fronted the bottle since the 1960s, itself inspired by Sir Edwin Landseer’s 1851 painting The Monarch of the Glen, and frames it with the founding year 1887. The Grant family crest, carrying the motto Stand Fast, is embossed into the packaging, and the wordmark has shifted to a cleaner sans-serif style.
In practical terms, this means the whisky wall at your next airport layover is about to look noticeably different. Glenfiddich is positioning itself firmly as a British luxury brand, complete with an Aston Martin Formula One partnership, and the Voyage Collection is the travel retail expression of that push.
Where the Voyage Collection fits in Glenfiddich’s travel retail history
Glenfiddich has treated airports as a testing ground for years. The Cask Collection arrived in 2013 as the distillery’s first no age statement travel retail series, and the Perpetual Collection followed in 2022 with its four Solera-driven Vat bottlings. The Voyage Collection now takes over as the permanent core range, and it marks a shift in philosophy: where Perpetual was built entirely around the Solera process, Voyage spreads across four different maturation stories and reintroduces age statements on three of the four bottles.

On paper, the 18 Year Old Port Cask Finish is the story here. A genuine first from a distillery of this size does not happen often, port-finished Speyside is a combination that tends to flatter, and £100 for a permanent 18 year old sits well against the wider market. The 12 Year Old Rum Cask Finish at £60 for a full litre looks like the sleeper pick for value. The honest caveat is the 43% bottling strength across the age-stated range: fine for the style, but enthusiasts hoping for the non-chill filtered, higher-strength approach of the Perpetual Collection’s Vat 03 will notice the step back.
